SHANE GRAY
About SHANE
Shane Gray returns to NHRA competition making his debut in the JBS Equipment NHRA Pro Modified Series presented by Elite Motorsports in 2027. A multi-time national event winner in Pro Stock, Gray brings a wealth of professional drag racing experience and a championship-winning pedigree back to the track.
Gray established himself as a premier driver in Pro Stock under the Gray Motorsports banner alongside his brother Jonathan and father Johnny Gray. Over eight seasons in Pro Stock, he recorded 13 final-round appearances and five national event victories, including a breakout 2013 campaign with five final rounds and a crown-jewel victory at the prestigious 2014 NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis. His last Pro Stock victory came at the 2017 NHRA Gatornationals.
At the end of 2017, Gray stepped away from full-time driving to support the racing careers of his sons, Tanner Gray (2018 NHRA Pro Stock Champion, current NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver) and Taylor Gray (NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series driver).
Reuniting with Elite Motorsports owner Richard Freeman and his former Pro Stock crew chief Justin Elkes (owner of Modern Racing), Gray returns to the driver’s seat ready for a new challenge in the high-horsepower Pro Mod ranks.
