About AARON
Third generation drag racer Aaron Stanfield led the stable of Elite Motorsports Pro Stock teams with a fourth-place finish in the 2025 NHRA championship chase. The rising Pro Stock star had two final round appearances that included a showdown with his father, five-time NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series world champion Greg Stanfield, at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals. Aaron would finish the season with two-runner up finishes and five semifinal appearances.
In 2024, Stanfield had arguably the best season of his Pro Stock career. In 20 races, he made 10 final round appearances and came away with the Wally six times, a career best. Stanfield had only three first-round exits and led the points standings for two races in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship, the six race playoffs, before finishing third in the championship hunt for the second time in his career.
Stanfield is one of the most versatile drivers in all of NHRA drag racing. He’s handled driving duties for Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Top Dragster, Factory Stock, Factory X and Pro Stock. He joined the Pro Stock professional drag racing ranks in 2014, competing in a handful of races until 2015.
Stanfield reemerged in Pro Stock for the 2019 Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s six race playoffs, before taking on a full-time Pro Stock schedule in 2020 and breaking through for his first professional victory at the now defunct Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas. He’d finish the 2020 season seventh in the points standings.
Stanfield would improve to three wins in 2021 and in 2022, the year he joined Elite Motorsports, would have three victories and four No. 1 qualifying positions to finish third in the championship points standings. In 2023, Stanfield had one win in two final round appearances with a fourth place points finish.
Stanfield has three NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 4 championships to his name and while handling his Pro Stock ride, raced his way to three Factory Stock Showdown world championships in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
One of the most memorable moments of Stanfield’s career occurred in 2020 at the NHRA SpringNationals at Houston Raceway Park where he not only won his first professional Pro Stock event but doubled up for a win in Factory Stock Showdown to clinch the world championship.
